Salt Creek Fire Information (So Far, Everything’s Good)

I’ve received a lot of emails from riders in various stages of panic over the Salt Creek Fire, a 500 acre wildfire burning down near the mouth of the Upper Sacramento River canyon.

At this point, it’s in the neighborhood of 45 miles away, and the I5 freeway is open.

The only real threat to the ride would be if the fire got much bigger and the smoke made things untenable. That’s unlikely to happen, but we’ll keep you posted.

    Hi – I don’t recall receiving any info about where/when to check in to get numbers and info etc. Is it possible to do so on Saturday afternoon? Thanks!
